Overview
MorseCodeTranslator.site ("we," "us," or "our") operates a free web application for Morse code translation, audio playback, image decoding, and learning resources. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect — and what we deliberately do not collect — when you use our site.
We built this service with a privacy-first architecture: Morse translation, audio synthesis, image analysis, and microphone decoding run entirely in your browser. Your messages are not sent to our servers for processing.
Information We Do Not Collect
When you use our translator, audio player, or decoder tools, the following stays on your device:
- Text and Morse code you type or paste
- Images you upload for Morse detection (processed via HTML Canvas locally)
- Microphone audio analyzed by the live decoder (Web Audio API — not recorded or uploaded)
- Audio files generated by the CW player (created in-browser)
Information You Submit Voluntarily
If you use our contact form, we collect the name, email address, subject, and message you provide so we can respond. Contact messages are stored in our database and accessed only by site administrators.
Cookies & Local Storage
We use minimal browser storage for essential functionality:
- Theme preference — light/dark mode stored in localStorage
- Learning progress — optional checklist on the Learn page stored in localStorage on your device
- Session cookie — Laravel CSRF token for form security when submitting contact messages
Advertising
We may display optional static advertisements (banner placements) managed through our admin panel. We never use pop-up, interstitial, or overlay ads that block tool usage.
Third-party advertisers may use their own cookies if you interact with their ads. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not ours.
Third-Party Services
We load Google Fonts (Inter, JetBrains Mono) for typography. Your browser may connect to Google servers when loading fonts. We do not share your Morse content with Google or any third party.
Children's Privacy
Our site is suitable for educational use by all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. If you believe a child has submitted personal data via our contact form, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold (such as contact form submissions). To exercise these rights, email us via the contact page.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
